On Typography
A page of text has only a few decisions in it: the family, the measure, the leading, and the restraint to stop there.
Everything else — boxes, cards, shadows, accent colours — is a substitute for having made those four well.
Measure
Sixty-five to seventy-five characters. Wider and the eye loses the line return; narrower and the rhythm breaks up.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Measure | 34rem |
| Leading | 1.6 |
